[FM] Help researching about House Concerts.....

Dear Folks,
I am writing an article about house concerts and hope you might help me. I
need information about how they first started up, who was influential in
starting them, how they are faring these days, how people feel about them.
How do the neighbours / authorities feel about the traffic in their street?
Are there any websites that might help me? All contributions will be
acknowledged. This article is for a small Australian folk magazine of which
I am the volunteer editor. I will not receive any money for my part. 
House concerts are just starting up over here.
